SAFE SPACE, 2019
‘Nudity, intimacy and sexuality are elements that come together in this series, together with the spectacular unspectacularity of the male body.
Male nudity, or male bodies in general,
are often seen as ugly or improper if compared to the hypersexualisation
and hypersaturation of images of female bodies. They are less represented or not represented at all if they do not meet the requirements of the tall, sculpted and virile man. It was my effort to find the beauty in the naturality of these bodies,
in their normality, while staging and directing them in my very own safe space.’
6x7 and 35mm color film, scanned.
